DESCRIPTION:The SKA-India Science Meeting titled “India and the SKA: Pre
 paring for a Transformative Era in Astrophysics” in January 2026 comes a
 t a pivotal moment as the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) enters
  its full construction phase. The timing aligns with critical project mile
 stones\, as the first SKA dishes in South Africa and low-frequency antenna
  stations in Australia are integrated on site. India’s participation as 
 a full SKAO member\, coordinated by the SKA-India Consortium\, represents 
 a significant national stake in this facility. With the prospect of SKA sc
 ience now imminent\, this meeting serves as a critical platform for the co
 mmunity to transition from planning to execution. \nThe meeting aims to b
 ring together the entire national community involved in scientific areas r
 elevant to the SKA. Its programme will feature plenary reviews\, contribut
 ed talks\, and extensive poster sessions covering the full breadth of SKA 
 science. In addition\, dedicated discussion sessions will be central to th
 e meeting\, providing a forum to collectively prepare for the forthcoming 
 Science Verification data expected in 2027 and strategise our participatio
 n in the Key Science Projects.\nDue to logistical constraints\, the number
  of participants will be limited.\nThere is no registration fee for the me
 eting. Meals will be provided for all participants by the organisers.\nAcc
 ommodation for participants will be arranged on the IISER Mohali campus\, 
 either in the Guest House or student hostels\, with the associated charges
  borne by the participants. Subject to the availability of funds\, financi
 al assistance for accommodation and travel may be offered to a limited num
