The GMRT Radio Physics Lab (RPL) is delighted to announce its upcoming Summer School on Radio Astronomical Engineering, to be held from June 15–19, 2026, at the scenic GMRT campus, Khodad, Pune.

Objective:

The GMRT RPL Summer School  in Engineering is a programme designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications in radio astronomy and engineering. It offers engineering students a unique opportunity to explore the frontiers of radio telescope technology, signal processing, and astronomical instrumentation through a balanced combination of lectures and hands-on experiments.

The programme aims to help participants deepen their technical knowledge while also developing practical skills essential for cutting-edge research in radio astronomy. In particular, the hands-on experimental components are intended to actively engage students, enabling them to better understand the practical challenges and real-world requirements of radio astronomy systems, and to appreciate the importance of experimental approaches in this field.

Who can apply ?
The Summer School is tailored for engineering students eager to delve into the world of radio astronomy instrumentation. We welcome applications from 3rd and Final Year B. Tech Students in ECE, E&TC, and E&I Engineering, and 1st Year M. Tech Students specializing in ECE, E&TC, and E&I Engineering.
